Limited Lifetime Warranty

Last Updated: 09/09/2026

Orangatang stands behind every wheel and bushing we pour. Our Limited Lifetime Warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship for the original owner of new Orangatang products purchased from an authorized dealer. Urethane is built to be ridden — which means it will wear, cone, scuff, and shrink over time. That's not a defect; that's a wheel doing its job.

This warranty is subject to and forms part of our Terms of Service. Capitalized terms used but not defined here have the meanings given in those Terms.

What's Covered

The following products are covered by our Limited Lifetime Warranty against defects in materials and workmanship, for the lifetime of the product as reasonably determined by Orangatang based on normal use and the product's design life, when purchased new from an authorized Orangatang dealer on or after January 1, 2014:

  • Orangatang longboard wheels (including motor-wheel urethane sleeves sold by Orangatang)
  • Orangatang bushings (the Nipples and the Knuckles)

Typical covered defects include cores separating from urethane, voids or air pockets in the urethane, cracked or misaligned cores, and bushings that split or shear under normal riding conditions.

What's Not Covered

This warranty does not cover:

  • Normal wear and tear. Coning, flat spots, ovaling, worn surface skin, scuffing, thane lines left on the pavement, urethane shrinkage, bushing compression set, and the natural breakdown of materials over time due to regular riding.
  • Impact damage. Chunking, chipping, or cracking caused by rocks, curbs, cracks, debris, or hard landings. Most wheel chips are impact damage, not manufacturing defects.
  • Misuse and accidents. Damage caused by misuse, accidents, fires, the implosion of the sun, smashing into curbs, walls, Bactrian camels, cars, wildebeest migrations, meteor strikes, or Segway festivals. Our wheels are not built to be bumper cars or to survive the heat death of the universe.
  • Environmental and heat damage. Degradation caused by improper storage, prolonged exposure to moisture, heat, cold, sun, solvents, or by excessive heat from electric skateboard motors, brakes, or hubs.
  • Improper installation. Damage from over-tightened axle nuts, missing bearing spacers or speed rings, bearings hammered into cores, or bushings installed in trucks they were not designed for (see each bushing's compatibility list).
  • Alterations. Any modification by the owner that affects the product's structure, shape, or intended use, including cutting, grinding, drilling, coring, or re-pouring.
  • Unauthorized purchases. Items bought from a non-authorized seller (Facebook, Craigslist, eBay, your neighbor's lemonade stand, or a sketchy truck "sale").
  • Electric skateboards, drivetrain kits, and electric components. Orangatang does not offer warranty coverage on electric skateboards, motors, batteries, electronic speed controllers, remotes, hubs, or any other electric drivetrain components, regardless of whether they are sold or referenced by Orangatang. Any warranty for these items is provided solely by the manufacturer of those components.
  • Bearings, hardware, tools, apparel, and accessories. Bearings, mounting hardware, risers, skate tools, apparel, stickers, and other accessory items are not covered by this warranty. Damaged or defective items in these categories are handled under our Return Policy.

Warranty Remedies

If a product is determined to be eligible for warranty service, Orangatang may, at our discretion:

  • Replace the defective wheel or bushing with the same model, size, and durometer, or
  • Replace it with a comparable model if the original has been discontinued.

Because wheels are sold in sets, we may replace only the defective wheel(s) rather than the full set, and replacement wheels may differ slightly in color or wear from the rest of your set. Repair or replacement is your sole and exclusive remedy under this warranty. No refunds are provided for used products under warranty claims.

Eligibility and Proof of Purchase

All warranty claims require proof of purchase — a receipt or order confirmation — showing that you are the original owner and that the product was purchased new from an authorized Orangatang dealer.

Gift recipients. If you received the product as a gift, you may serve as the original owner for warranty purposes provided you can supply the original gift receipt or order confirmation showing purchase from an authorized dealer.

Minors. If an Orangatang product is purchased by a parent or legal guardian on behalf of a minor rider, the purchasing adult is treated as the original owner for warranty purposes.

Wheels included with a complete skateboard. Orangatang wheels that shipped as part of a complete from another brand (including Loaded Boards) are covered under that brand's warranty. Start with the shop or brand you bought the complete from.

How to File a Warranty Claim

  1. Contact us or your local shop. If you suspect a manufacturing or material defect, reach out to your local authorized dealer or contact us directly via our warranty submission form. Include clear photos of the issue and your proof of purchase. Many wheel claims can be evaluated from photos alone.
  2. Receive a Return Authorization (RA#). If your issue appears to be covered and we need to see the product in person, we'll issue an RA# and detailed shipping instructions.
  3. Ship your product to us. Send the product (with the RA# clearly marked on the outside of the package) to:

    Orangatang Wheels
Attn: The One Who Makes Cats Do Unnatural Things
    10575 Virginia Ave
    Culver City, CA 90232
    USA

    • Remove bearings before shipping
    • Shipping must be prepaid and insured for the full value of the product
    • Use a trackable shipping method
    • Mark areas of concern with tape or clearly note where the issue is
  4. Inspection and outcome. We typically inspect warranty submissions within 10 business days of receipt and will contact you with our determination.

Inspection Outcomes

If your claim is approved: We will replace the product and ship it back to you at our cost via standard ground shipping within the United States.

If your claim is denied: We will contact you with our findings and offer you two options:

  • Have the product returned to you at your cost (standard shipping rates apply), or
  • Authorize us to recycle or discard the product on your behalf

If we don't hear back from you within 30 days of our denial notice, we may recycle or discard the product at our discretion.

International Warranty Claims

This warranty applies worldwide to products purchased from authorized Orangatang dealers. International customers are responsible for shipping costs to Orangatang and any associated duties, taxes, or customs fees. For approved claims, Orangatang will send the replacement product at our cost via standard international shipping. Please mark the outside of any international shipment as "Returned Goods" to avoid duty charges on the inbound side.

Limitations of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Loaded Boards, Inc. (doing business as Orangatang Wheels) is not liable for any incidental, consequential, special, or indirect damages arising from your use of our products — including but not limited to loss of use, lost profits, personal injury, or property damage. Any implied warranties, including warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose, are limited to the duration of this Limited Lifetime Warranty to the extent permitted by applicable law. This Section is in addition to, and does not limit, the assumption of risk, release of liability, and aggregate liability cap set forth in our Terms of Service.

State Law Variations

Some states do not allow limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts, or the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitations may not apply to you. This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights which vary from state to state.

Returns vs. Warranty Claims

This warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship. If you're looking to return an unused item or one that doesn't meet your expectations, please refer to our Return Policy instead — that's a separate process with its own timelines and conditions.
